Friends of Pack 893 – Webelos Den.
Cub Scout Pack 893 Wolf Den Haysville, Ks

Dear Scout Supporter:
Cub Scout Pack 893 is located in Haysville, Ks, and currently supports over 70 cub scouts, which 12 are Webelos. The rank of Webelos is important in the scouting career, as it is the first rank that really gets them ready for Boy Scouts. We are extremely activity with the Scouts, as we participate in multiple campouts a year, monthly day trips, and have accumulated over 100 miles of hiking as 3rd graders.
We challenge the boys to earn every achievement each year, and so far, every Scout has risen to the challenge and successfully earned all of the achievements every year they have been in our Scout Program.
The Webelos Den just finished our Summer Camp program where we spent 4 days kayaking, swimming, hiking, learning map and compass, learning how to fix things around the house, work on a truck, rappelling, crossing water obstacles, built our own lap, and completed multiple team building activities.
Currently, the Webelos Den is preparing to join the Boy Scouts, where we will be backpacking and camping on a regular basis. As such we are need of some important equipment to ensure that every kid, regardless of background, can continue in Scouting and participate in ALL EVENTS. We understand that camping can be an expensive hobby and that the financial burden required to obtain quality camping gear is a barrier to some of our Scouts and parents. As such we are seeking donations of some or all of the materials that will be required to carry out great adventures, and introduce a passion of the outdoors into our young Webelos.
• (12) 40L internal frame backpacks
• (12) 1 qt. Water Bottles
• (12) Inflatable Sleeping Pads
• (12) Mess kits
• (6) Camping stove, backpack style single burner
• (12) Climbing harness that accommodates waists from 24” – 36”
• (6) 3-man backpacking tent
• (12) Head lamps
As the Scouts are growing and wanting to go on more adventures, we are needing equipment to allow them to participate in more backpacking trips, caving, rappelling/rock climbing, horseback riding, and aquatic adventures.
Any help or assistance in this mission would be greatly appreciated by the leadership, the parents, and especially the youth.
We believe nature is a great teacher, an inspiration, and a source of lifelong experiences. We want these boys to have lifelong experiences in the outdoors and to become future leaders. Your assistance and thoughtfulness are deeply appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Justin Bruster
