POPCORN – Important Info To Know
POPCORN SELLING TIMES: 28 Sept to 28 Oct 2018 – please read under POPCORN DATES for more!
LAST YEAR TOTAL SALES: $33,485. Can we beat that by 30% to receive an extra 2% – YES WE CAN!
WHY SELL POPCORN: Selling popcorn is a major fundraiser for your scout and the pack. By selling popcorn and participating in den and pack popcorn activities, going door to door, and online sales, your scout will earn a portion of sales; which is 25%. This can pay for dues, recharter, boys life magazine, camps, activities, rank books at end of year, various kit projects, and pack shirts. The pack keeps a small portion of the popcorn sales; 6% to help pay for camping supplies.
Commitment form to SELL popcorn: NEEDS to be signed BEFORE picking up any popcorn OR taking popcorn packet home. This will be kept on file till end of 2018. This says you will turn in all monies collected & deliver popcorn and return in saleable manner of take-orders. Please pick one up at September pack meeting. Please turn into Cubmaster, Michael.
DEFINITIONS:
CLIPBOARD SALES: door to door to get orders, give product you have on hand. They must PAY when you give product OR order. Give receipts if requested.
RED WAGON SALES: Having products on hand (except chocolate) working as a group; door to door, asking if they would like to support scouting and buy popcorn. they pay at that time they order popcorn.
SHOW N SELL SALES: sign up for 1 hour time slots at a specified store and time of your choice. Scouts stand up front to welcome customers and ask if they would like to support scouting by buying popcorn to help them go to camp, etc. ***Will receive email on Wednesday prior for all those signed up for Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
TAKE ORDER: Picking up popcorn and signing it out. You have on hand product to sell to customers.

TAKE ORDER: PICK UP AT: 256 Hungerford Ave. (corner of Hungerford & 2nd St.) (Doris home) Park on side of garage on 2nd street. garage should be open but if not, Come to front door or call when here. PLEASE always call/text first to see if I am home to pick up / return or pay monies you have on hand. I will start new families off with a small basic package. I will gather it and get it ready. YOU will SIGN out each time.
POPCORN SIGN OUT for Take Order. When you sign out popcorn, before you receive MORE, turn in ALL monies for sold & Return any unsold popcorn. You can re-sign out popcorn. Please give me couple hours to a days notice to get popcorn together before pick up. Email me at cspack893@gmail.com with your order.
DAMAGED products that is returned – WILL BE paid by you. This includes, opened, crushed, written on, dirty beyond a wipe off. Anything NOT in the saleable manner when given to you.
OPENED POPCORN BAGS you receive in AN UNOPENED BOX that you signed out:
PLEASE notify me immediately. I will need to SEE the box it came in as well. VERY IMPORTANT!
SIGN UP’s for show n sell begin: At new parent orientation and then at 7th Pack meeting. IF you will NOT be at the pack meeting, let me know and you can sign up for a spot earlier. 1 spot each until ALL families have had a chance to sign up. Sign up sheets will be at each den meeting till filled in.
PAYMENTS ACCEPTED: Checks payable to PACK 893. Cash. IF you want to sign out a Square payment reader and if one is available, you will have to use the credit card form and KEEP TRACK in order for your scout to receive credit for sale! you will record, date, time, amount, note if it is visa, or mastercard and the LAST 4 digits of card. This is used to verify in the SQUARE records of payments.
FILLED SHEETS: Don’t wait till the end of popcorn time, I will take those if all orders have been filled EXCEPT what we don’t have on hand. All monies for that sheet needs to be turned in at this time.
MAKE SURE YOUR SCOUTS NAME AND DEN (lion, tiger, wolf, bear, webelos, arrow) is on EACH SHEET
DENS WHO WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN A RED WAGON SALE (RWS)- Show your sales order sheet (can provide you with clipboards) Know what we have and prices! I can provide you with a square or 2 if available and a credit card form.
Leaders: please provide change and pens. If a scout gets a sale that has to be ordered, they MUST collect monies and be willing to bring the order back to them at end of sale. Write it on your order form! Keep the money FOR THAT sale to add to your own monies collected. Leaders can help you.
Who gets the credit? Each scout that participates in the time set for RWS with the hours, monies earned and the number of scouts who participate this is all a factor in what each scout earns. ALL monies earned is kept on records and added to their total for an ongoing tally for prizes, etc..
WHAT IF THEY WANT PRODUCT YOU DON’T HAVE ON HAND BUT WE HAVE? Put on order sheet, they order what they want AND pay. If product is available on-hand, you can sign out and deliver. Collect payment first.
When you are low or out, I will bring more. leader will call or text me.
WHY are they selling popcorn?? Attend several camps this pack year as well as various activities! Supporting my scouting adventures!
COLLECT MONIES UP FRONT: when scout take orders, on hand or to deliver – collect! Most of the time, door to door sales will cancel orders if you have to go back and collect. Unless of course, you know them.
